How to Split Screen with Safari on iPad

Method 1 — the built-in way (no extra app needed)

1. Open Safari and load the page you want to keep visible.
2. Swipe up briefly from the bottom edge to reveal the Dock.
3. Find the second app in the Dock, or open it once first so it appears there.
4. Touch and hold its icon and drag it to the left or right screen edge until the divider appears, then release.

If it's not splitting
